The calendar has turned to a new year, and that always means new challenges, but also new anniversaries. And a very significant jubilee awaits the popular Rallye Český Krumlov, which will run its 50th year on the weekend of May 19 and 20, 2023. As a part of it, a rich accompanying program is being prepared that already started with a presentation at the recent Austrian Jännerrallye in Freistadt. “We are planning some pleasant surprises for the spectators as well as many novelties regarding the routes. I believe the fans will not regret it if they come to see us at the 50th Rally Český Krumlov in May,” says the main organizer of the competition, Pavel Kacerovský. All information about the event will soon start to be published continuously on the official website www.rallyekrumlov.cz.

Another round birthday that the South Bohemians celebrate this year is the 60th birthday of Petr Gross, who had been closely associated with their event for many years. This is also why this excellent long-time co-driver appeared at the stand of the Český Krumlov organizers in the Messehalle in Freistadt, not long before the prize giving ceremony of the Jännerrallye. Petr Gross was greeted by the applause of many fans and then he was presented with a genuine model of one of the cars in which he reached his greatest achievements – a Škoda Octavia Kit Car model. Both Jan Kopeček, the author of the model, and the organizing team of Rallye Český Krumlov personally participated in handing over the model.

The Jännerrallye was important for the organizers of the Český Krumlov motorsport events for other reasons as well. On the one hand, they took a significant organizational part in it, moreover, this event is part of a joint cross-border project, which this year is called INOTECH electronic Regional Rallye Cup. Its participants add up the points collected in Austria and then at the spring Rallye Český Krumlov, for which foreign competitors are a regular and very welcome enrichment to the starting list. This time in Freistadt, Martin Fischerlehner was the best in this evaluation, and Michael Franz in the 2WD category.
