Rallye Český Krumlov looks out for the May term

7. 2. 2021 Pavel Kacerovský Press Releases

For the second year in a row, organizers of domestic car rallies have to deal with complications associated with anti-epidemic measures. The same applies to the organizers of Rallye Český Krumlov who postponed the prepared 48th year by exactly twelve months last spring.

“We do our best to ensure that our event can take place on a traditional date, May 21-22, which we also confirmed to the Rally Commission during the recent online conference. However, we don’t know yet the specific conditions under which it will be possible to hold mass sports events. We believe and at the same time firmly hope that Krumlov will be held in 2021,“ assures Luboš Šalát, Clerk of the Course, from the organizing ÚAMK Automotoklub Rallye Český Krumlov.

In addition to the unhappy coronavirus situation, the organizing team is worried by the significant limitations at the České Budějovice Exhibition Centre, which has been the heart of the South Bohemian rally continuously since 2007. “The largest vaccination centre in the region opened a few weeks ago on the premises, and Pavilion Z where the rally regularly has its background is undergoing renovation. Unfortunately, the variant of the temporary transfer of the rally centre to the Lipno Ski Resort wasn’t viable due to the planned construction modifications of the central car park beneath the slopes,” explains the main organizer of the Český Krumlov based event, Pavel Kacerovský. “In the next days we will take part in several negotiations so that we can be clear about the venue of the rally by the end of February,” he adds.

This year’s international event is included in the FIA European Rally Trophy, SONAX Czech Rally Championship and national championship of historic vehicles, and it should include a novelty in the form of a sport&social event for historic vehicles called Rallye Český Krumlov Revival.

“We want to use the popularity of our one-hundredth rallies and offer the owners of historic cars a regularity rally following the FIA rules. Regularity rallies are very popular abroad which is obvious e.g. during the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique in which our team’s crew has been actively participating for several years,” reveals Pavel Kacerovský bold plans of ČK motorsport.

The route of the Český Krumlov Revival Rally will take the crews, among others, to the almost forgotten special stages where the 50-year history of the South Bohemian rally was written. Times will be measured by the professional GPS system from the Spanish results processor that is regularly used by the Český Krumlov team for its Czech New Energies Rallye, an event of world cup for electric cars. The social dimension of the event will be provided by the accompanying program, including rich catering. Those interested in participating will receive more information at the e-mail address .
