May suites to Rallye Český Krumlov

29. 3. 2022 Pavel Kacerovský Press Releases

For the second time within unusually short time, racecar engines will be roaring around Český Krumlov. The last year’s event, held at an alternative autumn term, will be followed by the 49th Rallye Český Krumlov in a season which has been inseparably connected with this popular sporting event for many years – May 20-21, 2022.

While in November the event was exceptionally held during a weekend due to an early nightfall, this year the organizers from ÚAMK Automotoklub Rallye Český Krumlov and ČK motorsport returned to the proven format with start during Friday afternoon, a night special stage and long Saturday ending with a podium ceremony against the backdrop of a picturesque World Heritage Site.

The itinerary comprises 6 competitive sections, with the test at the Exhibition Ground (Výstaviště) in České Budějovice as the most popular for spectators, where also scrutineering, shakedown and service area can be visited. The most demanding test for the crews will be the legendary SS Malonty that will rank among the jewels of the rally season due to its length of 28 km. Thanks to successful organizers’ negotiations with municipalities along the route, this will be the longest SS of a Rally Český Krumlov since 2007.

After a short pause caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the 49th Rallye Český Krumlov is again present in the calendar of the FIA European Rally Trophy, it also represents the 3rd event of SONAX Czech Rally Championship and of the Czech Historic Sporting Rally Championship. The organizers also intend to organize an exhibition event Rallye Legendy Show that will be held in South Bohemia for the fourteenth time.

This packed motorsport weekend in South Bohemia will be completed with two more international regularity rallies which do not require the crews to be as fast as possible, on the contrary, precise maintaining the average speed will be decisive for the podium. The 10th ČEZ Czech New Energies Rallye has been a part of the alternative energies cup since 2016 without interruption, while Rallye Český Krumlov Revival, an event intended for historic cars made not later than in 1990, will follow with only 2nd year after its last year’s premiere in FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies.

New information on all events to be held under the Český Krumlov castle will be continuously published on the official website www.rallyekrumlov.cz.
